Garlic Butter Brazilian Steak

Garlic Butter Brazilian Steak is a quick and flavorful dish featuring juicy, tender steak seared to perfection and bathed in a rich garlic butter sauce infused with fresh parsley and a hint of lemon. Ideal for busy weeknights or special occasions, it combines simple pantry ingredients to deliver a melt-in-your-mouth experience with bold, buttery, and garlicky flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak

  • 1 ribeye or sirloin steak (about 1012 oz)

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 34 garlic cloves, freshly minced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steak: Pat your chosen steak dry with paper towels to ensure a perfect sear. Season both sides generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Let it rest for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  2. Make the Garlic Butter: In a small saucepan or skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook gently until fragrant but not browned, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in fresh parsley and a splash of lemon juice if using. Remove from heat while you cook the steak.
  3. Sear the Steak: Heat olive oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet over high heat until shimmering. Add the steak and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare (adjust timing for thickness and preference). Avoid moving the steak to develop a rich, caramelized crust.
  4. Finish with Garlic Butter: Lower the heat to medium and pour the garlic butter over the steak, spooning continuously to baste it and soak it in those deep flavors. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes to lock in juices before slicing.

Notes

  • Choose ribeye for great marbling or sirloin for a leaner option.
  • Let steak come to room temperature before cooking for even doneness.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan; cook steaks in batches if necessary.
  • Use a heavy skillet (cast iron preferred) for best searing results.
  • Always rest the steak after cooking to retain juiciness.
  • Slice against the grain for maximum tenderness.
