Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Main Flavor & Add-ins

  • 1 cup Fresh Strawberries, washed and diced
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Nuts or Crisp Rice Cereal (choose one for crunch)

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Ingredients: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Wash and dice fresh strawberries, then measure out all other ingredients for easy access.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined to ensure uniform baking.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugars: Using a mixer or by hand, beat softened unsalted butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until the mixture is creamy and light in color, which aerates the dough for a fluffy texture.
  4. Add Vanilla and Strawberries: Gently stir in vanilla extract followed by the diced fresh strawberries, taking care to keep the berries intact and evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined to avoid overworking the dough, which can cause tougher cookies.
  6. Fold in Crunchy Add-ins: Fold in your choice of chopped nuts or crisp rice cereal to add a pleasant crunch to every bite.
  7. Shape and Bake: Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing each about two inches apart to allow spreading. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until edges turn golden brown.
  8. Cool and Enjoy: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely, allowing the texture and flavor to set perfectly.

Notes

  • Use softened butter at room temperature for better mixing and consistent dough texture.
  • Do not overmix the dough to keep cookies tender and fluffy.
  • Always use fresh strawberries for optimum moisture and natural flavor.
  • For thicker cookies, chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes prior to baking.
  • Line your baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and promote even baking.
