Garlic Butter Steak Bites are tender, juicy pieces of steak quickly seared and tossed in a rich, aromatic garlic butter sauce. Ready in under 20 minutes, this recipe delivers a flavorful and satisfying dish perfect for weeknights or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak

  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, trimmed and cut into 1 to 1.5 inch cubes

Butter & Seasoning

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Garnish

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Cut the Steak: Trim any excess fat from the steak and cut it into bite-sized cubes about 1 to 1.5 inches, ensuring quick cooking and easy bites that soak up the garlic butter flavor.
  2. Season the Steak: Generously season the steak cubes with salt and freshly cracked black pepper to build the base flavor and enhance the beef’s natural taste.
  3. Heat the Pan and Add Oil: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Heat until hot but not smoking to achieve a perfect sear.
  4. Sear the Steak Bites: Place the steak cubes in the skillet without overcrowding. Sear each side for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown and caramelized, locking in the juices.
  5. Add Garlic and Butter: Reduce heat to medium. Push the steak to one side, add 3 tablespoons of butter and the minced garlic. Stir garlic in the butter until fragrant, then toss the steak bites in the garlic butter until evenly coated.
  6. Finish with Fresh Parsley: Turn off heat, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the steak bites for color and freshness. Serve immediately to enjoy the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Let steak come to room temperature before cooking for even doneness.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if needed to ensure a proper sear instead of steaming.
  • Use freshly minced garlic for best aroma and flavor, avoiding pre-minced options.
  • Let steak bites rest a few minutes off the heat after cooking to seal in the juices.
  • High heat searing is essential for the caramelized crust on each piece.
