Ingredients

Scale

Beef Filling

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 3 garlic cloves, freshly minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese (divided)

Dough & Topping

  • 1 package pre-made pizza dough (about 1216 oz)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing and brushing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Filling: Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onions and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant and translucent. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and optional Worcestershire sauce. Remove from heat and stir in half of the shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Let the mixture cool slightly.
  2. Roll Out the Dough: Lightly flour your workspace and roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle about 1/4-inch thick. This thickness ensures the dough can wrap around the filling without tearing.
  3. Assemble the Bombs: Spoon generous portions of the cooled beef mixture onto the dough in evenly spaced mounds. Fold the dough over each mound and pinch the edges tightly to seal each bomb completely, ensuring no filling leaks out.
  4. Brush and Sprinkle: Place each sealed bomb on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with the remaining shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheeses for a golden, bubbly finish.
  5. Bake to Perfection: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bombs for 15-20 minutes until the dough is golden brown and the cheese on top is bubbly. Allow to cool a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Don’t overfill the bombs to prevent dough tearing or filling leaks during baking.
  • Let the filling cool slightly before assembling to avoid soggy dough and easier handling.
  • Seal the edges tightly; moistening the dough edges with a bit of water can improve sealing.
  • Make bombs uniform in size for even cooking and attractive presentation.
  • Preheat the oven fully to achieve a crisp, golden crust every time.
