Ingredients

Scale

Proteins

  • 12 oz sirloin or ribeye steak, tender cut
  • 12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined

Seasonings and Spices

  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, herbs blend)

Pasta

  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Cooking Oils and Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Proteins: Start by seasoning the shrimp and steak generously with Cajun seasoning. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for about 3-4 minutes per side until cooked to your liking, then remove and let rest. In the same pan, cook the shrimp until pink and opaque, roughly 2 minutes per side. Set shrimp aside.
  2. Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water and cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving about half a cup of pasta water to adjust sauce consistency later if needed.
  3. Make the Alfredo Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant and golden. Pour in the heavy cream and simmer gently for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently. Gradually add grated Parmesan cheese while stirring until the sauce thickens and becomes velvety smooth.
  4. Combine Everything: Slice the rested steak thinly and return it along with the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Add the drained pasta and toss everything together, coating the noodles thoroughly with the creamy Alfredo sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen it.
  5. Finish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley on top for a burst of color and fresh flavor. Serve immediately while warm and creamy.

Notes

  • Rest the Steak: Letting the steak rest after cooking ensures juicy slices without drying out.
  • Don’t Overcook Shrimp: Shrimp cooks very quickly; pull them off the heat as soon as they turn pink to keep them tender.
  • Use Fresh Parmesan: Freshly grated cheese melts better and provides a more authentic taste than pre-grated varieties.
  • Adjust Sauce Thickness: Use reserved pasta water to fine-tune your Alfredo sauce consistency without diluting flavor.
  • Spice Balance: Start with moderate Cajun seasoning, then taste and add more if you want a bolder kick.
